I began and designed Anchored-In-Knowledge in 2009. I knew that I wanted to help people who were suffering but didn't know exactly how at the time. After completing graduate school and landing an internship under psychiatrists, psychologists, and other mental health therapists, I updated this website with the intention of marketing my services to children and adolescents only.
However, over the past 7 years of working with parents, families, and caregivers, I realize the strong need for a therapist who can help them navigate the muddy waters of the mental health system. During the same time I became certified in trauma therapy. Trauma therapy recognizes that most humans experience some kind of trauma and that therapy can provide the support needed to return to a healthier state of functioning. This is an important part of my work with clients.
I strive to walk with you through tough times, help you explore what your challenges mean to you, and motivate you to find the purpose and peace of mind needed to survive.
I am a therapist who works with family trauma, angry, oppositional, or anxious and depressed kids, suicidal ideation and self-injurious behaviors, confused parents, families, and caregivers within the mental health system, and families on the verge of falling apart due to negative teen behavior(s).
I am a therapist with both personal and professional experience with challenges of living (i.e., wavering faith, self-esteem, anxiety, depressed mood, uncertainty, loss, etc). I combine my knowledge of counseling and my personal experience to make therapy practical and non-judgmental.
I hope this website serves as a resource and motivator for you.
